A Day in the Life of Me

Introduction:

The world of a jeweller is filled with passion, creativity, and a touch of magic. I handcraft my jewellery from my Alladin’s Cave in the Kent countryside, where I have all the tools that I need to create a piece of jewellery from start to finish. I also have my trusty assistant, Piglet, who helps keep my business on track!

Inspiration:

I take my inspiration from lots of places; the farmland around my workshop, antique jewellery, architecture, furniture, wallpaper or patterns I see in magazines or clothes. I like to flick through social media first thing in the morning, keeping a keen eye out for any designs that capture my imagination on Instagram and Pinterest, taking screenshots for future reference to inspire my designs.

Crafting Magic:

Once at my workbench, I use age-old hand techniques and modern CAD methods to handcraft beautiful pieces of jewellery. I use tools such as a piercing saw, pliers and tiny drills to intricately make each component that makes up a piece of jewellery. I strive to create heirlooms that will be cherished for future generations.

Collaborating with Clients:

One of the most fulfilling aspects of my work is collaborating with clients to bring their visions to life. Whether it is an engagement ring or a necklace that celebrates a milestone, I love being part of their stories. The joy on their faces, when they see their dreams in my little green boxes is a huge reward.

A Day Well-Spent:

Creating jewellery is not just a profession but a way of life for me. Each day brings new briefs to fulfil through sourcing gemstones, and designs to bring to life at my workbench. I really love what I do and am very grateful for all of the clients who have trusted me to handcraft very special pieces of jewellery for them.
